George Reed - Evangelist
Ken was converted to Christ at the age of sixteen in the Eastend of London. He worked under his Pastor, Clyde Young, for several years at the East Ham Assembly of God. Then, at twenty three years of age he heeded the call to ministry, serving in such places as Ware in Hertfordshire, Brentwood in Essex, Darlington in County Durham and Blackburn in Lancashire.
Ken is a preacher, Bible School Lecturer, Author and Broadcaster having produced Christian Radio and TV programmes that have been screened in many parts of the world. His testimony, which is both dramatic and humorous, has been aired on some five hundred Radio Stations worldwide. In the ‘Unshackled’ programme put out by the Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago, USA.
In recent years Ken has been associate minister at the Eastwood, Nottingham Assembly of God, where he exercises a platform ministry and contributes to Team Guidance of the local church.
In his preaching role he has instigated the “Y” Bible teaching series and has introduced such titles as, “Y Read the Bible?”, “Y Attend Church?”, “Y Break Bread?”, “Y Fellowship is vital!”. He has also produced a series of free hand-outs to help raise the profile of the local church. The series is entitled “Putting Your Church on the Map” and Ken uses his media and pastoral experience to tackle the practical aspects of how the local church presents itself in the locality.
Ken has been married to Ruth for forty years and has three children and seven grandchildren, of whom almost all attend the local Assembly.
